Busy November 2012

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.  Yes, we all ate too much and were thankful that we had family and friends to share our day with.

The craft show was a success, I had a lot of fun met some really nice people, visited with friends who stopped by my table, love crafters they shared stories and I learned a lot.  I hope to do a few craft fairs in 2013.

The “Square” worked and I do believe it helped with sales.  After making a 170 pieces of jewelry I am going to take a break. 

Thank you to my daughter in law Allice who made me a banner wow she is the best, the banner added so much to my table.  Also, thank you to everyone who came out enjoyed the show and gave me so much encouragement and purchased my jewelry.

Craft Fair 2012

Announcement: On Friday November 16 and Saturday November 17 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.  I will be doing my first Craft Fair at The Congregational Church in Sun City Arizona.  I’ve made over a 100 pieces of jewelry all one of a kind.  Really I didn’t know that there was so much work involved in craft fairs.

Making jewelry is my passion.  I LOVE creating. Available will be necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, zipper pulls, back pack pins, pendants.

But the other stuff display, pricing, schlepping (carting), and who knows what else.  I am now accepting credit carts I love using my “Square” with my new iPhone, oh had to learn that too! 

I had to move to the dining room table. Needed more room!

Before the invention of straws people used natural rye grass straws. Straws were patented on January the 3rd, 1888 by Marvin Stone.

Today, there are so many straws to choose from the colors are bright and the sizes are endless.  My use for straws.  Most of us have many different size chains and they always seem to get tangled and twisted in your jewelry box.  Try this.   Get a package of inexpensive plastic straws, string your chains through it clasp together. Lye it flat in your draw or jewelry box.  If you have a shorter chain like a bracelet simply cut the straw, for a longer chain you can tape two together.

Zipper Pulls

What are zipper pulls? These cute pulls are perfect to accent a sweater, sweatshirt, a backpack, purse, wallet baby bag. Anything with a zipper just attach the zipper pull and you’re off. My zipper pulls are removable by a simple and reliable clasp. How about an Angel in your birthstone color?

The holidays are coming and zipper pulls are a great stocking stuffer.

Bee-Dazzled by Bettina had Re-Opened

My Etsy store has re-opened.  Since I closed the store in May to catch up I’ve been busy.  Traveling, visiting friends and family and having fun, watched a great HBO movie “Iron Jawed Angels”.   My husband and I celebrated our 43^rd anniversary.   Read a lot and of course made jewelry.

We were in San Diego last week and saw this shop, WOW, so many beautiful things, not cluttered with junk, Yes, of course I went into shopping mode and yes I bought a cute little candy dish.  I'll be back.

Good By Lunch

Today we all said good-by to our Snowbird and Canadian friends.  Our Westbrook Village Lapidary Club had a wonderful luncheon at Alicia’s house.  Everyone brought a dish to share.  Wow, the goodies were delicious and the ladies are great it was a fun time had by all.

 Alicia is a wonderful artist and has so much talent and it is all over her house from quilting to stained glass. We all enjoyed the tour. Thank you for opening your home.  

 I know we will all come back and share stories and new ideas.

I NEED TO GET BUSY

I recently joined The Seton Society at St. Elizabeth Seton’s R.C. Church.  This group of very dedicated men and woman who help raise money for the church with bake sales,two Craft-Bazaars a year and much more. We get together once a week and share ideas. I enjoy the ladies so much ages ranging from 50 to 95.  Some of the talents beautiful hand pressed flowers for bookmarks and picture frames; there is knitting and crocheting; all kind of handmade goodies   I will be participating Craft-Bazaar in November making my hand-made one of a kind jewelry.  All the profits go to the church.

Very often when talking with people they say don’t you need a lot of space and time to do craft?   Yes and No.  Beading, as with any craft being organized is key, keeping you tools in good working order is also very important.  For example there are many sizes and shapes of crystals, beads and different size wires, etc.  Good lighting and a magnifying light is very helpful.

I started Bee-Dazzled by Bettina in 2005 and I’ve loved every minute of it. I love being creative. I make all my jewelry by hand. I always buy more than I need.  I do most of my buying on line but there are many stores that have an endless supply of goodies.  With me once I started I wanted to make everything.  I went crazy reading and buying everything beading and hoping I was doing everything right.

  I am still learning and loving every minute of it.

I owe my happiness to my customers. Thank you

We went to California this past week to visit our daughter and her family.

Gavin 2 ½, is our youngest grandchild. He is as busy as ever. Enjoying pre-school, his bike, toys and growing too fast.

Christina's Wedding

Today, I am working on finishing Christina’s wedding party order.  The girls loved the samples. Five different bracelets Turquoise and Copper beautiful colors with a bit of Swarovski crystals.  Also one teenager five inch wrist and a two year old. Seven bracelets in all.  They also want matching earrings. I’ll post the finished products.  No time for fun in the sun. Wedding is the end of March.

Size Matters

Thank goodness we are not all the same size this includes jewelry.

So size does matter!

 I've received emails requesting larger size bracelets and necklaces please let me know the size you need large or small.  If you have a bracelet or necklace that you love the way it feels and looks just measure the length and email me.  Earrings come long, short, pierced or clip on.

Happy 100th Birthday Arizona February 14, 1912

To celebrate Arizona’s 100^th birthday, I’ve designed a memory wire bracelet with polished Turquoise and solid Copper.  Turquoise is the official state gemstone and Copper a rich mineral is the star of Arizona

 I am also doing similar bracelets for a bridal party, the bride to be now must pick from the three samples I gave her.  Christina, is going to be a beautiful bride.  I truly love making designing and jewelry

The days have been so beautiful it is really hard for me to stay inside and get anything done.

Recently I was asked to make gifts for a bride to give to her bridesmaids, a lot of planning and samples for the bride what will she choose?

I live in a great senior community and belong to a few clubs. This week in our Lapidary Club we had classes in Silver Smiting, a lot of work but the results are just beautiful.  Thanks to Alicia and Barbara you gave a great class. 

I took a class and made an Etsy Bitsy Tennis Bracelet all Swarovski crystal.  Not on my Etsy site yet. I need to do another, a lot of work.  

But.   I love to do Glass fusing so I created a few new things for my Etsy Site check it out btcarlo@etsy.com

Las Vegas Fun

We had a great time in Las Vegas.  Our grandaughters are as beautiful as ever.  Ashley, is a pro vollyball player, enjoyed her game.  Amanda, is doing great in college. We were out shopping and she was called to do a commercial for TV so off she went.
Of course food is a large part of our Italian life so Eggplant Parmigina was dinner with Italian bread, sooooooooogood.  Thanks Pete and Allice

2012- New Year New Blog

I visited my daughter in law this past weekend (and helped her make tutus for her online store Tutuland and she decided I needed to blog.  So guess what?  Bettina is blogging.... Yes, its true.
